mikesusz.com history

As I comb through my various backups and archives, I'll add old versions of my website here.

1996

Prior to this version, my 'homepage' was basically text with a bit of formatting. In 1996 I got my first Mac, and Photostop and Kai's Power Tools, so the graphics and textures were the result of many hours spent tweaking things. Fun graphics note - this was before 'drop shadows' were easy, so I had to copy the mask shapes onto the 'water' texture with a ton of gaussian blur. Good Times.

Technical note: this is a table layout that behaves like a 'responsive' site, using the table widths and centering content in cells so that the content adapts to the screen size. Light-years ahead of its time.

1997

This was my 'cyber' and also my rounded/shiny phase. Also, my first use of Frames. Sometimes I wish we could un-invent those. This copy includes the full MST3k references guide that I used to compile and maintain. I had a lot of free time in the 90s, okay?

2001

I kinda became obsessed with basic icons and warning symbols for industrial equipment. That drove this aesthetic that I frankly still love. There were a few iterations of this dating from 1999 with pithy content that I came up with quickly and received many virtual groans and eye-rolls about. But this is the latest after I met my wife and I think this is the nicest.
